COVID-19 Work Projects: Palo Park

Palo Park is a primarily residential area adjacent to open space and greenways with boundaries defined by Jay Rd. to the north, Foothills Pkwy to the east, Diagonal Hwy to the south, and 28th St. to the west.

Palo Park projects are listed alphabetically by the artist’s last name:

Tom Ellison, Visual Artist
Tom is a botanical printmaker making one of a kind prints using the historic cyanotype process. He’ll be making a series of new work over the next few months and posting them to an online gallery. Neighbors will have an opportunity to receive original artwork from the gallery at no cost in exchange for making a donation to a local non-profit aiding in the COVID-19 crisis.

Mary Golden, Cross-disciplinary Educator
Mary is partnering with local musicians to provide virtual harmonica tutorials with the Cool Girls Science and Art Club. Lessons will take place online with the goal of an in person concert when physical distancing restrictions are lifted.

Bill McCrossen, Musician
During COVID-19 restrictions, Bill has been writing new music for the ngoni, a traditional African string instrument. In August, he will perform this new work for the Boulder Vista Village Mobile Home Park alongside fellow musician and neighbor Laura Jahanara Magnus.

Edica Pacha, Visual Artist
Edica creates large-scale wheat-paste murals using a unique “layered in camera” photographic style. She will install a new mural with imagery that inspires residents to ‘RISE UP’ together in response to the pandemic. This mural will be featured on a mural tour planned for the summer.

Peggy Sands, Visual Artist
